Psalm 34:14 presents peace as something actively pursued. By turning from evil, choosing goodness and surrendering pride, we become people who create peace rather than merely wishing for its presence.

Romans 5:1 takes us beneath peaceful feelings to their true foundation. Through Jesus Christ, faith brings reconciliation with God, freeing us from earning acceptance and allowing the soul finally to rest.
