Why are there so many broken families? and the statistics continue to climb! Within broken families we are finding people are not emotionally fit to understand how to address their problems appropriately.
There is something I want to touch on that may be sensitive but, I am seeing it more and more in the news and social media. And it’s a topic of ” Mind Control ”
Mind Control is a form of manipulation it’s under the umbrella of persuasion and influence, how to change a person (s) beliefs and behaviors. A Manipulator hides their intent in the form of deception. They wait for the moment of opportunity and will find your weakness as well as your strengths and use them against you.
It can sometimes happen in a group setting or even more commonly in a intimate relationship. A crafty person will use their manipulative powers to manipulate and exploit the other (s) it can be in relationships like teacher/student preacher/worshipper husband/wife…intimate targets can ‘ve more dangerous than group targets because ALL the attention is directed towards only one person.
What is so concerning about people who try to control other People? There is something that person is trying to benefit from or trying to satisfy their own desire and needs that they believe happened to them and left them empty, hurt or pained emotionally, so there is a disturbed and angry nature that was created within their mind.
A person who is a manipulator believes they are the smartest person and tends to love themselves in a way that seems very arrogant. They will create a dependency with the person they are manipulating, they are actually making the decisions for them, while allowing the person to believe they are independent and making their own decisions. They are not even aware of the manipulative influence they are under, nor the changes that are occurring.
Things to consider:
If you see this happening within a group setting or individual it happens in a subtle way. The person (s) believe they are making decisions for themselves when in fact, ALL decisions are being made for them. It takes time there may not be physical force, but, there definitely is psychological and social force and pressure.
This is more damaging than brainwashing, with brainwashing a person ( victim ) knows the aggressor is their enemy, and they are coerced with physical force. To stay alive depends on changing their beliefs system. When a person escapes from the brainwashing the effects of this frequently disappears.
Mind Control is more subtle and sophicated because the person doing the manipulation is of considered a friend, teacher, preacher spouse. So the victim is not trying to defend themselves, in fact they are more if a willing participant believing the manipulator has their best interest in mind and would never doing anything to hurt them.
They will often provide the information and support the manipulator needs to accomplish their dirty deeds. The manipulator will then use it against them to ruin their relationships with people who are close to them. Family, friends and coworkers. This makes mind controlling more dangerous than physical coersion, it can be more effective than physical coersion.
What type of person could do such a thing?
. A person who thinks Highly of themself, someone who is selfish, self centered, a big ego, who believes they are smarter than anyone else, a person who is controlling has a excuse and answer for anything even if it’s illogical.
. A person who believes their life growing up was horrible and they were treated badly, so they have a need to save someone from their bad experiences. They become the hero or superman/ superwoman to save the person.
. Typically it’s a person who is a psychopath or sociopath and Narrcissists, a vast majority of extreme manipulators who use mind control fit the profile, the reason why they can do this is because they have no conscience. If you are considered a threat to them they will dismiss you and portray you as ignorant, stupid, and as a manipulator and liar.
I have seen more and more of these stories on the news of families that are being destroyed by people with serious personality disorders, I continue to think how to reach out to families who are hurting and suffering with broken relationships, but there is so many forces in that keep us from reaching out and helping.
What more can we do? Be proactive and support the ones we love. Times are getting harder people.
