Think before you Speak

[proverbs 16:23 ]
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

At its core, the verse suggests that wisdom serves as a guiding force, shaping not only our thoughts but also our expression of them.
The phrase “the heart of the wise” encompasses the entirety of one’s being, including our emotions, intentions, and moral compass. It implies that true wisdom emanates from a deep understanding of oneself and the world around us

“Teacheth his mouth” implies a conscious and intentional process of self-regulation and refinement. It suggests that wise individuals exercise discernment and restraint in their speech, carefully considering the impact of their words before uttering them. This aligns with the idea that wisdom involves not only possessing knowledge but also knowing how to apply it thoughtfully in social contexts.

The phrase “addeth learning to his lips” underscores the dynamic nature of wisdom. It implies that wisdom is not static but continually growing and evolving through learning and experience. Wise individuals are lifelong learners who actively seek to deepen their understanding and insight, allowing them to offer valuable contributions to conversations and relationships.
